the fourth o' july

Last night we packed up a picnic dinner and headed to Veteran's park to watch the fireworks display set off at the river. The first 10 minutes were lovely and then there was a somewhat abrupt halt to the show and of course no one knew what was happening. We waited it out for a bit but finally headed back to the car. When we got home, we looked online and saw that there had been an explosion, and while no one was hurt the fire had damaged the rest of the detonator's so no more fireworks.

Luckily I splurged Friday and bought $11 worth of sparklers.
